Allison Lord

Who is Allison?

I am a personable, confident, peaceful person, with a quick wit and a great sense of humor. I am meticulous but I also like to get things moving. I value my time.

I was born in the Caribbean and have lived in Canada, Europe and the USA. I have an adventurous spirit. I have traveled extensively around the world including to Yap and indigenous Papau New Guineau where I was crowned a tribal queen :-).

My travels have made me more open minded than most. I believe travel gives you a more multi-cultural experience. It allows you to be less judgmental and opinionated of others and more educated about the world.

I am a true patron of the arts, especially the culinary arts. My close friends and family would consider me a master chef. But, in all honesty, I love eating. My love affair with food has taken me all over the world—from native foods served in dirt huts in third world countries to fine dining at most of the four and five star restaurants on six of the seven continents. I will be sharing some fusion recipes on this blog and invite you to also send in your favorite recipes to share with our readers.

Enough about the personal fun stuff…when it comes to business I am an entrepreneur and mentor. I am a devoted admirer of Oprah Winfrey. Like Oprah, my work includes projects that inspire messages of empowerment, especially to women. It’s my passion to rebuild respect, self-esteem and confidence into impressionable young minds. I once invited a twenty-year old girl, who had just lost her father, into my home. I helped her go on to be one of the youngest PhDs in Los Angeles.

I support the creative arts to build morale and confidence. I executive produced “Tomorrow’s Stars Today” a talent extravaganza with my sister Sandra Lord and Jackie Jackson of the legendary Jackson 5. I recently served as executive producer of “Brat Girls”, a music video that parodies the irresponsible lifestyle of top young female celebrities. It’s a warning to young “wannabes” of the “Party Like a Rockstar” lifestyle. That’s the kind of stuff I love to do. I could do it in my sleep!

I am also a loving mother of one son (my son and I are best friends who really “get” each other). I encourage my son, who is a phenomenal singer, songwriter, music producer, dancer and actor, to follow his dreams. (Shameful plug: .) I believe that he is the next big superstar! (even though I also think he would be an incredible comedian.)

My most recent endeavor as a writer is my first book, Escaping The Island Fever. Think of how fascinating I have become in the last five minutes and put that into story form (insert laugh track here). I really just want to share my experiences with the world. I am almost completed and my next step is to find a publisher and an agent.

I hope you like our blog.
